Adam Scott: 'Tiger Woods's dry spell offers chance to younger players'

Scott: 'Players can take advantage of Woods's form'

Adam Scott has insisted that the younger players in golf are ready to take advantage of Tiger Woods's recent "dry spell" in major tournaments.

Woods has not achieved success at a major since the 2008 US Open and Scott believes that the next generation of players are ready to step up to the elite level.

"Tiger is on a dry spell at the moment and that's what happens in a career," the Australian told reporters.

"Jack Nicklaus had a run like that and he is still the greatest player of all time. It wouldn't surprise me if Tiger comes and wins again this year, but there is my generation of player that is feeling like their time is now so they have to take advantage of it."

Scott won his first major at the Masters in 2013.
