Roundup: Lee Westwood crashes out of WGC-Cadillac Match Play

Lee Westwood is knocked out of the WGC-Cadillac Match Play by fellow Englishman Danny Willett as the quarter-final lineup in San Francisco is completed.

The former world number one took the lead after the first hole, but Willett bounced back to level the score during the front nine, and won three holes without reply in the back nine to secure a 3&2 victory.

Rory McIlroy thrashed Hideki Matsuyama 6&5 to progress to the quarter-finals with a victory that included four successive hole wins from the fifth tee.

Paul Casey and Tommy Fleetwood increased the British interest in the last eight with victories over Charl Schwartzel and Branden Grace respectively.

Elsewhere, John Senden defeated Hunter Mahan 2&1, with Gary Woodland despatching Marc Leishman by the same scoreline.

Former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen defeated Rickie Fowler by one hole and Jim Furyk made light work of JB Holmes, winning 5&3.
