Ian Poulter isn't looking to seek advice from a Masters mentor.

Ian Poulter is adamant that he will trust his instincts rather than seek help from a mentor at the Masters.

Last year's champion Charl Schwartzel sought the advice of six-time champion Jack Nicklaus in 2011, while three-time winner Nick Faldo recently complained in the Daily Mail that none of his countrymen have asked for his advice.

Poulter, who is "95%" recovered from pneumonia, said: "It is hard to take advice from someone with a very different game and a very different mindset to you.

"If you try to put yourself into the mindset of someone else you could potentially struggle. I'm not Jack, I'm not Nick Faldo, I'm not Seve, I'm me."

Poulter's best Masters finish was tied 10th in 2010 whereas last year he tied for 27th on his seventh visit to the Augusta National.
