Colin Montgomerie says only four players can win Open

Monty backs 'one of four' players to win Open

Colin Montgomerie has revealed he believes only four players are capable of winning this week's Open Championship.

The 49-year-old named Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose and Paul Lawrie as the only competitors this week who have the all-round game to compete at Royal Lytham.

Montgomerie told BBC Radio 5 Live: "There are three technical systems they have got to have and they need all three to win.

"There's only a few that fall into every category. One of those four are going to win."

The former Ryder Cup captain has played in more than 500 European Tour events.
