Stephen Gallacher withdraws from PGA Championship with wrist injury

Gallacher withdraws from PGA Championship

Stephen Gallacher will play no part in this week's BMW PGA Championship as he was forced to withdraw due to a wrist injury.

The Scotsman pulled out of Wednesday's Pro-Am event after discovering that he had tendonitis in his left wrist.

Last year's Ryder Cup wild card was hopeful of recovering in time for today's play, but it has now been confirmed by Sky Sports News that the 40-year-old is not fit to compete.

Gallacher, who has been replaced by Englishman Robert Dinwiddie, has carded two top fives in the PGA Championship over the last five years.
