Ross Fisher believes that the Gleneagles course can help improve his performance this week.

Ross Fisher hopes that his familiarity with the Gleneagles course will help him challenge for the Johnnie Walker Championship this week.

The 30-year-old has slipped out of the top 50 in the world rankings this season with only three top ten finishes to his name.

However, Fisher has been close to success at the Scottish venue in the past and believes that the course in Perthshire improves his performance.

"I feel like it suits me quite well, I think it's my fifth time here," he told Sky Sports News. "I've had some good chances - I think my best is just inside the top 10.

"I've come off the back of a decent week at the PGA - felt like I played really good, just didn't score as well as I played.

"I feel like the game's in really good shape. I feel like it's been there and it's just a case of getting it ready and putting it together for a whole week. Hopefully this will be the start of a good run."

The Johnnie Walker Championship begins tomorrow.
