Luke Donald draws Ernie Els at Accenture Championship

Defending champion Luke Donald has drawn former Open champion Ernie Els in the opening round of the Accenture World Match Play Championship.

The world number one heads a field of the world's strongest players in Arizona and will be looking to advance past South African veteran Els and claim the first world championship of 2012.

Tiger Woods meets Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano at Dove Mountain while world number two Rory McIlroy begins his campaign against another South African, George Coetzee.

Lee Westwood faces European counterpart Nicolas Colsaerts at the Arizona course whereas fellow Englishman and champion of two years ago, Ian Poulter, faces off against Korean Bae Sang-moon.

The pick of the ties is arguably an all-Spanish affair between in-form Sergio Garcia and Miguel Angel Jimenez, which is bound to produce entertainment.

The first round matches will be played from Wednesday to Sunday.
