Nicolas Colsaerts "amazed" by Martin Kaymer absence

Colsaerts shocked by Kaymer absence

Nicolas Colsaerts has admitted that he is "amazed" Martin Kaymer has chosen to not play during the final week of qualifying for the European Ryder Cup team.

Kaymer is currently holding the last automatic qualifying position for Jose Maria Olazabal's team but Colsaerts can take the spot from the German if he finishes in the top two at the Johnnie Walker Championship this week.

The Belgian said: "I assume I'm amazed like everyone else, but everybody goes about their business in different ways."

Colsaerts has revealed that he has found it hard to not concentrate on the Ryder Cup this season.

"When you want something like this for such a long time, and you've never been in this position before, it's very difficult and I think about it all the time," he added.

The Ryder Cup begins on September 28 at Medinah Country Club in Illinois.
