Ted Potter Jr wins Par 3 contest

Ted Potter Jr has won the Par 3 contest ahead of Thursday's Masters in Augusta.

The American defeated fellow countrymen Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar in a playoff to win the traditional warm-up event after shooting a four-under-par round of 23.

This year's tournament featured a number of legendary names from the world of golf, including Nick Faldo, Gary Player and Arnold Palmer.

The day also saw Rory McIlroy have girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki work as his caddy around the course. The Northern Irishman went on to card a five-over round of 32.

The winner of the Par 3 contest has never gone on to win the Masters.
