Jason Day leads the Masters in Augusta by one shot after the end of the second round, as Tiger Woods remains in contention for his first Major since 2008.

Jason Day leads the way at the end of the second round of the Masters in Augusta with a score of six-under-par.

The Australia has a one-shot lead after hitting a four-under-par 68 to reach six-under through 36 holes on Friday.

The 25-year-old, who finished runners-up at the 2011 Masters, is one shot ahead of fellow Australian Marc Leishman and American golfer Fred Couples.

Argentina's Angel Cabrera birdied five of his final six holes in the second round to score four-under-par along with the American duo Brandt Snedeker and Jim Furyk.

World number one Tiger Woods is among seven players at three-under-par, recording a three-putt at the 18th hole and ending his round with a bogey.

Chinese teenager Guan Tianlang became the youngest player to make the cut at a Major and is four-over for the tournament, as is defending champion Bubba Watson.
