Watson: 'Masters failings got me in record books'

World number 14 Bubba Watson has joked that he had a "pretty good week" despite finishing tied for 50th at the Masters.

The defending champion had a time to forget in Augusta, which culminated in him scoring 10 on the par-three 12th hole to finish seven-over for the tournament.

However, the 34-year-old isn't getting depressed about his poor performance.

"If you're not going to win, you've got to get in the record books somehow, so I'm a guy that got a double-digit score on a par-three," said Watson.

"When you look back at this week, I had nine three-putts, three balls in the water on 11, and a 10.

"So when you add that all up, a tie for 50th is a pretty good week."

Watson was within striking distance of the lead on the 12th on one-under par, but put three balls in Rae's Creek, including one out of the back bunker, to move out of contention.
