Jordan Spieth excited by rivalry with Rory McIlroy

Spieth relishes McIlroy rivalry

New Masters champion Jordan Spieth has said that he is looking forward to fighting with Rory McIlroy for golf's biggest prizes.

The 21-year-old became the youngest winner at the tournament since Tiger Woods won in 1997, as he held off Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose to win by four strokes on Sunday evening.

McIlroy is the current world number one, while Spieth's win has lifted him to number two in the rankings.

He told reporters: "He's got four majors, something I can only dream about. I look forward to getting in the heat of the moment with him a few more times in the near future."

McIlroy finished six shots behind Spieth at Augusta National.
