Adam Scott returns to the long putter for The Masters

2013 Masters champion Adam Scott reveals that he will return to using the long putter for this week's Masters tournament.

Adam Scott has confirmed that he will revert back to his long putter for The Masters, which begins on Thursday, despite their use being outlawed from the 2016 season onwards.

The 34-year-old, who claimed a green jacket in 2013, had been using a short putter in recent weeks, but insists that The Masters is too important to risk experimenting.

"It just seemed like the sensible thing to do. I'm not here to just see what happens, I'm here to get the job done. The odds are more in my favour with the longer putter, considering I've used it over the last four years," Scott told reporters.

"It's a process. I've got time up my sleeve to change. If you call the last few weeks a bit of an experiment, it's good to know that I learned things about what I was doing, what I think about and what my principles are in the putting.

"But I certainly think I'll be putting with the longer putter later on this year."

With the short putter, Scott failed to make the cut at the Valspar Championship, but did finish in a tie for 35th place at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
