The 32-year-old became the first Australian to win a green jacket with his triumph over Angel Cabrera on the second playoff hole, having finished level with the Argentine after 72 regulation holes.
Norman, who twice blew a final-round lead at the Masters, said that he never doubted his compatriot would go on to Major success.
"Everybody questioned whether he could do it," the PGA Tour's Titter page quotes Norman as saying. "We all knew it. The players know it.
"I think he'll go on and win more majors than any other Australian golfer."
Norman won two Open Championships during his time as a professional.
