Rory McIlroy remains upbeat after Masters performance

McIlroy 'happy' with Masters display

World number one Rory McIlroy has said that he is happy with how he performed at The Masters, despite failing to win the tournament.

The Northern Irishman finished six shots behind winner Jordan Spieth after a final-round 66, but thinks that no-one could have challenged the American, who led throughout and won by four shots.

He told BBC Sport: "I played well. I've played well over the entire weekend, a disappointing finish yesterday but there are a lot of positives to take from it. I didn't quite have enough and it doesn't look like anyone could have kept up with Jordan this week."

McIlroy finished fourth at Augusta National.
