Jason Day has taken the lead at the halfway stage of the 77th Masters at Augusta with a four-under-par round of 68.

The Australian is now on his own at the top of the leaderboard on six-under, followed closely by Fred Couples and Marc Leishman on five-under.

Tiger Woods dropped two shots over the final four holes to leave him on three shots off the lead, while Rory McIlroy is also in contention on two-under-par.

12.41amWell, one Australian started the day at the top of the leaderboard, and another has finished the day on top. Jason Day (-6) takes over from Marc Leishman, who is only one shot back on five-under.
12.38amThat means that Guan Tianlang HAS MADE THE CUT at just 14 years of age. What an achievement for the Chinese player!
12.37amPARS! Fowler and Day both finish with par at the last, bringing the second round to a close.
12.37amHarrington (+9) has five foot left for a par, but he is one of those who'll be bowing out at this stage. Other notable weekend absentees will be Francesco Molinari (+11) and Hunter Mahan (+14).
12.35amDay putts to within a foot of the cup and he'll finish with par for the outright lead at the halfway stage on six-under.
12.34amLovely shot from Fowler from the bunker. Plenty of imagination, as he uses the undulating green to his advantage by playing it up onto a slope, which takes the pace off his ball, before having it feed back towards the hole.

12.26amBOGEY! That's a dropped shot for Woods at the last. Unfortunate, as he scrambled well after making a good start. He was tied for the lead on five-under at one point, but he still lurks on three-under heading into the weekend. He's many peoples' pick for the green jacket. And after a battling round, it's easy to see why.
12.23amTiger's long birdie putt at the 18th goes past the hole and leaves him with a very tricky putt for par. He's been making these all day, but can he do it at the last? He's on four-under at the moment and would probably feel aggrieved to finish on three-under.
12.21amDonald chips to within inches of the cup at the last hole. He is actually better chipping than he is putting. Controversial?
12.20amPAR! Rickie Fowler saves par well at the 17th to keep himself on level par. He'll be kicking himself about what happened on 16, but that's a decent response.
12.18amWIDE! It drifts just to the right of the hole! Four-over is still the projected cut. Day, however, remains in the lead all on his lonesome on six-under.
12.17amJason Day puts the ball down for his putt. This will have big consequences regarding the cut line if it goes it.
12.15amBOGEY! One of those on the four-over mark is now Bubba Watson after he finishes with a bogey five. Tense finish here on the second day...
12.14amGreat approach into the 17th from Day and everyone on four-over tenses up! The Aussie has a decent chance of birdie to move onto seven-under.
12.11amBOGEY! Poulter finishes with a bogey to land on seven-over, although with Day on six-under he was likely to miss the cut anyway.
12.08amPAR! Tiger sinks the ball for par at 17 and he head to the last on four-under.

12.07amOf course, that birdie for Day will have the players at five-over feeling restless as he approaches the final two holes. They're now in big danger of missing the weekend. If the Aussie makes another birdie then young Guan Tianlang could have his heart broken with the very last swing of the club on day two. That really would be sickening for him, having looked like he was sneaking in since finishing his round earlier today.
12.04amTRIPLE BOGEY! Oh dear, oh dear! What a disastrous hole for Fowler. He drops back to even par with a triple on 16. He found the water and then three-putted. Round spoiler.

12.01amWoods follows a great tee shot at the 17th with a massive sand wedge to find the green. Big follow through to get it above the trees and plonk it on the dancefloor.

11.37pmWhat a shot from Tiger! He wasn't deterred by that slice of misfortune, and pitches a lovely wedge to within five feet of the cup. It looks like he'll make a six from there, and drop back to four-under. But that's more like the Tiger who dominated the sport for so long - I have goosebumps!
11.35pmIN THE WATER! Oh dear! So unlucky for Tiger! His approach to the 15th pitches right next to the hole, spins, hits the pin and cannons into the water! He'll likely drop a shot from there, but he's taken it well. Not the usual histrionics we've seen over the last few years.
11.33pmWhat a delightful shot by KJ Choi (-3) at the last, which looks likely to see him saving par. He had to chip out from the bunker and feed it around a slope on the green, but finished inches from the hole.
11.30pmPAR! Great save from Fowler keeps him on three-under! That was a tricky downhiller, but he judged it perfectly.
11.28pmBOGEY! A second bogey in a row sees Senden drop further back, spoiling what promised to be a great round after back-to-back birdies at 10 and 11.
11.27pmDay nearly finds the bottom of the cup at the 14th, which would have seen him take the outright lead. He has inches left for par, though.
11.25pmRight, back to the action, and Rickie Fowler (-3) is struggling to make par at the 14.
11.24pmRory McIlroy and Tiger Woods being paired in the final round of the Masters is akin to an El Clasico Champions League final or Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon final. Surely, even those who aren't particularly fans of golf would tune in for that one. But it's all pie in the sky at the moment. I'm dreaming.
11.22pmThere are 20 players within three shots of the lead. Case in point.
11.20pmPAR! Not only has Tiger played some great golf on the front nine, he has been scrambling well on the last couple of holes and he saves yet another par. I've said it before, and I might sound like a broken record, but this is fast becoming one of the best Masters weekends I can remember. The leaderboard is so bunched at the top, and very tight. It's been a while since Tiger has been at the top, but it still looks so familiar, doesn't it? And with McIlroy still in contention, we could be in for the dream Sunday everybody wants. Here's hoping.
11.17pmPAR! Oh no, Schwartzel (-2) couldn't make his birdie putt at the last and he finishes on a sour note. He dropped a shot at the 17th as well, so not the best way to end.
11.16pmBOGEY! Senden did drop that shot at the 16th and falls back to three-under as his compatriot Day moves ahead. All of a sudden, that's a two-shot swing.
11.14pmBIRDIE! Day makes a birdie at 13 and he now moves into a share of the lead with Couples, Leishman and Woods.
11.12pmSchwartzel nearly holes his second shot at the last hole, which would have been an eagle. He has a tiddler for birdie now to get back up to three-under. Senden has made a bit of a mess of the 16th hole and looks like he'll be dropping a shot.

11.04pmFowler's approach to the 13th hits something in the trees and cannons out onto the fairway. It looks to be heading into Ray's Creek but somehow it stays on the bottom of the bank. A slice of fortune.
11.03pmJustin Rose speaking on Sky Sports News: "You need a lot of imagination. It's fun, if you can try and keep it fun. It's hard when it's not going your way. On a day like today when the wind is blowing, it's important to get yourself in some nice spots out there."
When told that Tiger Woods said, of all Sean Foley's pupils, that he thinks Rose has the best swing, the Englishman replied: "Yeah, I know," with a jokey nature.
10.59pmPAR! Tiger went after his putt at 14 as if it was creeping in, but it just missed to the left and he remains tied for the lead on five-under.
10.57pmBOGEY! Schwartzel taps in for a bogey five at the 17th and he goes to the last hole on two-under par.
10.55pmPAR! Senden's birdie putt at the 15th trickles agonisingly wide of the cup! So unlucky, but he taps in for par to remain on four-under.
10.51pmBIRDIE! Great hole for Rickie Fowler as he becomes a rare birdie-er at the 12th. That puts him back on three-under with six holes left to play. It's a similar story to his round yesterday, which was marred by two double bogeys. He's been up and down today, but what can he do before the end of play?
10.50pmSky Sports News offering a quote from Fred Couples, who is not getting overly excited about his chances over the weekend. Characteristically, the former champion is staying cool: "I did tee off on Thursday with the idea of playing well, and now it's Friday afternoon late. I'm surprised, but I'm not like, you know, going to freak out over it."
10.46pmBIRDIES! A couple of late birdies has Snedeker finishing on four-under, while Justin Rose taps in for his birdie to finish on three-under. They're both safely in the clubhouse now and are positioned well for the weekend.
10.45pmSuperb tee shot from Fowler (-2) at the par-three 12th leaves him with a makeable birdie putt.
10.44pmRose's (-2) approach the the 18th goes past the hole, but rolls around the slope and filters back down, eventually finishing under five feet for a birdie to finish.
10.40pmBIRDIE! And Furyk (-4) makes it a pair of birdies for the group on 18. That'll give him a boost after a round that took a few blows. Namely a bogey and a double early on the back nine.
10.39pmBIRDIE! Westwood makes birdie at the last to get the three-under (definitely, this time). That's put him in a great position heading into 'moving day' tomorrow.
10.37pmPAR! Saving par from the hazard can be as much of an ingredient to winning the Masters as making birdies, and Woods does it for the second time today with a testing five-footer that threatened to break to the left. Nice putt.
10.34pmDonald and Woods both find the bunker at 12. It's been a busy stretch of sand, that has.

10.30pmTHE CUT LINE: The cut is projected at five-over at the moment. Currently below that mark are names such as Louis Oosthuizen, Ian Poulter, Stewart Cink (all +6) and Nicolas Colsaerts (+7). Padraig Harrington is 10-over through 10 holes and it doesn't look like he'll be sticking around. Guan Tianlang (+4) is still inside the line.
10.27pmBIRDIE! Schwartzel birdies the par-five 14th to move onto three-under. It's getting crowded at the top. It's very tight, with just three shots separating a whole host of players.
10.26pmDonald's birdie putt at 11 doesn't offer any break and drifts past the hole. Unfortunate, as he has struggled to get going today. He remains on one-under, even par for the day.

10.09pmAt the other end of the leaderboard, Bubba Watson is struggling to make the cut. He is on four-over, but has just dumped his approach to the 11th into the water. Not good news for the defending champion.

His group, which included Ben Crenshaw and Matteo Manassero, was deemed out of position on No.10. Guan began being timed on Hole 12 and received his first warning on Hole 13 after his second shot. In keeping with the applicable rules, he was penalized following his 2nd shot on the 17th hole when he again exceeded the 40 second time limit by a considerable margin."
8.50pmFuryk got lucky with his tee shot into the 12th. Although he was off the green, he didn't go into the azaleas and has a chip into the pin. However, it wasn't a good attempt and he will struggle to make par.

8.04pm"It is a shame to single out one single player," Colin Montgomerie tells Sky Sports News, speaking about the penalty for Guan Tianlang. It's taken an hour and 20 minutes for Donald and Woods to complete three holes, so you have to think that there will be more penalties on the way.

7.41pmGuan Tianlang has finished and he is one four-over for the tournament. He faces an anxious wait to see if he has made to cut for the weekend. As it stands, he's in.

7.37pmDOUBLE BOGEY! Well, after opening up a two-shot lead Dustin Johnson has crumbled slightly. The wedge he dropped into the drink has cost him two more shots and he is now on four-under.
7.35pmBubba Watson has just punched a delightful pitch into the third tee to leave himself with a very good chance of a birdie. The defending champion is currently at two-over, and I think most people want him to make the cut. I think most wouldn't mind him retaining the jacket, but that looks extremely unlikely.
7.33pmGarcia has just hit a good approach to the 16th to leave himself with a chance of birdie. If he can make it, get to three-under and stay there or better until the end of his round, then that could be a major boost to his confidence. He has bled shots for most of his round.
7.30pmUh oh, trouble for Dustin Johnson at the 15th. After laying up, he has just dumped a wedge into the water. And everybody on four-over tried to contain their joy. I'm not sure how well they concealed it, though.
7.28pmPAR! McIlroy, who was two-over until an eagle at the eighth got him even, has shot his fourth straight par at the 12th hole.
7.22pmPAR! Lee Westwood has shot six straight pars to open his second round and he's on two under. Rickie Fowler has started with a par at the first as well. He played superbly yesterday with six birdies, but a a couple of dropped shots cost him what could easily have been the honour of leading overnight.

7.15pmBOGEY! Dustin Johnson bogeys the par-four 14th and drops back to six-under. He leads by one now. Guan has just dropped a shot at the 17th as well, so he's right on the projected four-over cut mark.
7.11pmOne of the stories of yesterday was 14-year-old Guan Tianlang, who shot a one-over-par round of 73. Well, he finished two-over today and is well in with a shout of making the weekend. What a story that could be.
7.10pmThe weather has provided a sterner test for today's early starters. Plenty of rain and a stiff wind has passed through Augusta, but the afternoon starters look like they'll be getting the best of the conditions. The sun is beginning to break through the clouds and the course is drying out, the wind becoming a bit more benign, which could be bad news for the field with Tiger Woods just starting his round.
7.07pmMeanwhile, Sergio Garcia has not had the best of starts to his second round. That's putting it mildly. He is four-over-par through 14 for today and is now on two-under for the tournament. I hate to say it, but that's typical from the Spaniard, who is one of the most talented and likeable players on tour. He is often found wanting mentally, though.
7.05pmFred Couples is even par through 13 and remains on four-under. He has been joined on four-under for the tournament by Jim Furyk (one-under through six) and Charl Schwartzel (three-under through three).
7.02pmWe have a new leader! Dustin Johnson is going great guns on his second round and is two-under through 13, which puts him on seven-under for the tournament. Meanwhile, Marc Leishman has dropped a shot at the fourth and is now at five-under.
