Jimenez "would love" Ryder Cup captaincy

Miguel Angel Jimenez has conceded that he "would love" to captain Europe at the 2016 Ryder Cup.

The Spaniard is believed to be in the running for the position along with Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn.

When asked by news agency AFP if he wanted to take on the role for the event at Hazeltine, the 50-year-old replied: "I would love to be captain. That is something that every player who competes in the Ryder Cup wants to do."

Jimenez has played in four Ryder Cups, as well as being a vice captain on two occasions.
