Valtteri Bottas: 'Williams have work to do on wet weather performance'

Valtteri Bottas warns Williams that they must improve their wet weather performance after the Finn qualifies ninth for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Valtteri Bottas has suggested that Williams need to work on their performance in wet weather after the Finn qualified ninth for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

After missing the season-opening race in Australia with a back injury, Bottas was unable to challenge the pace of Ferrari or champions Mercedes and will start from the fifth row in Sepang.

However, Bottas is hoping for a dry race, as he believes that Williams will perform better in those conditions.

The Finn told reporters: "I am a little disappointed with how the day turned out. I felt like I did a good lap so was a little surprised to be in P9.

"I wanted to be the last car across the line and so was pleased to be, we just have some work to do on the wet weather performance. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow, but it will also be hot and so nothing will be easy, especially from ninth."

Bottas finished fourth in the 2014 drivers' championship.
