Fernando Alonso predicts a "tough race" in Spanish Grand Prix

Alonso expecting a "tough race"

Fernando Alonso is expecting a "tough race" in tomorrow's Spanish Grand Prix.

The Spaniard, who claimed first place on this track last year, finished seventh in qualifying ahead of the showdown in his homeland.

"It will be a tough race, we have been fighting all weekend," Alonso told BBC Sport. "We have low grip, but it has been the same for everyone.

"We didn't manage to get some comfort in the car. The rear end we have made four, five or six set-up changes this weekend and we need to be in a position to have a solid rear end and get the confidence back. Starting from seventh is not easy but hopefully tomorrow we can recover some places."

Lewis Hamilton finished the qualifying session in first place, while Nico Rosberg and Daniel Ricciardo took second and third respectively.
