The Turkish Grand Prix has been ommitted from the Formula 1 calendar for 2012.
F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone had proposed the removal of the race in July, and that move has now been formalised by the sport's governing body, the FIA.
The Istanbul meeting has been in place since 2005 but has suffered poor attendances in that time.
Meanwhile, the Bahrain Grand Prix has been re-introduced after its hiatus due to civil unrest, and the British Grand Prix at Silverstone will be held on Sunday, July 8.
