Ecclestone: No Bahrain GP concerns

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has dismissed any worries regarding the cancellation of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The race was called off last year due to anti-government protests in the Middle East country which led to a number of deaths.

However, Ecclestone believes that Bahrain deserves another chance to host the event and insists that there should be no security concerns come the race on April 22.

"Of course the race is going to happen. No worries at all," said Ecclestone.

"What I don't understand are the negative statements being made, people catching them and continuing them. They're saying things they don't understand. Whatever is necessary to do will be done, and which is probably not necessary anyway.

"We've never been concerned about security in the past. I don't understand why people should be concerned now," he added.

The Bahrain GP has been a highlight on the Formula One calender since its introduction in April 2004.
