Defending champion Sebastian Vettel has insisted that he is happy with his second-placed finish at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Red Bull driver came in behind Mercedes' Nico Rosberg, who won his first race of the season during an incident-packed Sunday afternoon in Monte Carlo.

"Overall I'm happy," Vettel is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We know it's difficult to overtake here. Congratulations to Nico, he had the pace and the tyres."

Sunday's race saw Vettel extend his lead at the top of the Drivers' World Championship to 19 points.
