Romain Grosjean happy with Lotus Malaysian Grand Prix result

Romain Grosjean believes that he had a good race, despite finishing outside the points in his Lotus at the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Romain Grosjean has insisted that Lotus had a good race at the Malaysian Grand Prix, despite both cars ending up without a point.

The Frenchman finished just outside the top 10, while teammate Pastor Maldonado was forced to retire from the race at Sepang.

However, Grosjean is keen to take the positives from the weekend.

He told reporters: "Overall we had quite a good race with a strong first lap and some nice overtaking, although I lost a lot of time behind [Nico] Hulkenberg and then the spin with [Sergio] Perez in such a fast corner.

"I had some fun overtaking with Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Force India, which was great, and we had a good strategy but we lost too much time to benefit from it. I also had an issue with my drinks bottle, which added to the fun.

"Overall the car behaved well though and we're not far from the top 10 so we'll work to close the gap for China."

Lotus mustered only 10 points in the 2014 Constructors' Championship.
