Kimi Raikkonen: 'Win more important for Lotus than me'

Raikkonen: 'Win more important for team'

Kimi Raikkonen has claimed that his victory in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was more special for his team than for himself.

The win was Raikkonen's 19th Grand Prix pole overall, but his first since returning to the sport following a two-year hiatus in which he turned his focus to rallying.

The win was also the first for the team under the Lotus banner, and the Finn attributed his success to the backroom staff.

"It's great. It's more important for the team and the people who work here. They do the hard work," Raikkonen said.

"I just try to deliver on a Sunday and a Saturday. It is one win for me but for them I think it is a much bigger thing."

The victory lifts Raikkonen up to third in the Drivers' Championship.
