Paul di Resta says that he won't get carried away after being linked with a move to three of the Formula 1 big boys.

Force India driver Paul di Resta has insisted that he is good enough to drive for one of the bigger teams after his fourth-place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The Brit came from sixth on the grid to record his highest ever finish to date in a race that saw Sebastian Vettel claim his second victory of the season as Lewis Hamilton was forced to retire with a broken gearbox.

The Scot has been linked with a move away from his current team, with McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari all being mentioned, but Di Resta is adamant that he is keeping his feet on the ground.

"I'm happier than I ever have been with what's going on around me, so obviously something's clicking into place," said Di Resta. "I like to think that I'm capable of stepping up to one of these bigger teams. There's some drivers about - I've raced against some of them at the top, I've had great battles with them and I've beaten them.

"I'm not getting carried away. When the time is right, hopefully someone will step up and give me the chance to do that because I want to be in a car that's winning races.

"I've worked with manufacturers before and there is a slight difference. I'll keep focusing on the job in hand just now because this is where my loyalties lie at present."

The next race is the Japanese Grand Prix on October 7.
