Ferrari cancel car unveiling because of heavy snow

Heavy snow at Ferrari's base in Maranello causes the launch of their 2012 car to be cancelled.

Ferrari have been forced to cancel the official unveiling of their 2012 car after heavy snow at their Maranello base in Italy.

The legendary Formula One team have now decided to reveal the new design on their website.

"The decision was taken because of the weather conditions and the difficulties facing the 300 or so people due to attend," a statement read.

The Italian team have admitted that they need to produce a radical redesign following recent unadventurous cars and have promised a bolder design following a change-up in their technical team.

Ferrari's great rivals McLaren yesterday unveiled their new MP4-27 car for the upcoming season, which begins in Melbourne on March 18.
