Ferrari boss Marco Mattiacci 'to be replaced by Marlboro chief'

Ferrari reportedly prepare to replace team boss Marco Mattiacci after only seven months in charge.

Marco Mattiacci is reportedly set to lose his job as Ferrari team boss after only seven months following criticism of his performance so far.

The 43-year-old succeeded Stefano Domenicali as principal of the Italian constructor in April and was charged with restoring the Prancing Horse to its former glories.

However, Sport Bild cites "well-informed sources" as suggesting that Mattiacci will be removed to make way for Marlboro Europe brand manager Maurizio Arrivabene.

It is thought that Sergio Marchionne, president of parent company Fiat, is not satisfied with Mattiacci's work so far in a season that has seen Ferrari fail to close to gap to the front of the grid.

The Maranello outfit are currently fourth in the constructors' standings.
