Sebastian Vettel claims third win of the season with Monaco Grand Prix victory

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel picks up his third victory of the Formula ! season after winning the Monaco GP, while Kimi Raikkonen takes second and Daniel Ricciardo third.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel has picked up his third victory of the 2017 Formula 1 season after claiming first place in the Monaco Grand Prix this afternoon.

The German driver's victory in the principality means that Ferrari have now claimed their first Monaco crown since 2001 to build on an impressive opening gambit in the new term.

Pole-position starter Kimi Raikkonen produced a steady race in order to secure second place, while Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo claimed third in a rather uneventful afternoon in the south of France.

Having started at second place on the grid, Vettel kept pace with fellow teammate Raikkonen, before overtaking his fellow Ferrari driver during the pits following a suspected team order.

Vettel was able to see his win through with little competition from elsewhere, although Red Bull's Ricciardo made good progress from an initial fifth place in order to secure a podium finish in third.

As for Mercedes driver and British hopeful Lewis Hamilton, the 32-year-old endured a frustrating afternoon after having to start in 13th at the grid, before he made the most of a frustrating weekend by climbing up into seventh before the conclusion.
