Sebastian Vettel wins Hungarian Grand Prix

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel extends his lead at the top of the Formula 1 driver rankings to 14 points after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon.

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has extended his lead at the top of the Formula 1 driver rankings to 14 points after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of teammate Kimi Raikkonen on Sunday afternoon.

Lewis Hamilton's victory at the British Grand Prix earlier this month saw the Mercedes driver move to within one point of Vettel, but that gap is now up to 14 ahead of the summer break.

Hamilton backed off in the middle and final sector to allow teammate Valtteri Bottas back into third position, while Max Verstappen, who crashed into his Red Bull teammate Daniel Ricciardo in the first lap of the grand prix, finished fifth after being hit with a 10-second penalty.

Alongside Ricciardo, Williams's Paul di Resta and Haas driver Romain Grosjean failed to finish the race.
