Silverstone is gearing up to host the Formula One 70th Anniversary Grand Prix.

Royal occasion

Dramatic start

Fire marshals put out fires following a first-lap crash in 1973. The incident resulted in the race being stopped, the first time that had happened in Britain. South African driver Jody Scheckter spun his McLaren-Cosworth M23 and bounced off the pit wall before numerous cars ploughed into him

Lauda has last laugh
