Team News: Richard Stearman back for Wolverhampton Wanderers

Richard Stearman comes in for the suspended Danny Batth as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Sheffield Wednesday.

Richard Stearman has come in for the suspended Danny Batth as Wolverhampton Wanderers host Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

Manager Paul Lambert makes one other change for his first match in charge at Molineux, with veteran midfielder Dave Edwards replacing teenager Bright Enobakhare alongside George Saville and Helder Costa as support for lone striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

Andy Lonergan retains his place between the sticks after keeping a clean sheet against Preston North End last time out, with Stearman coming in at centre-back alongside Kortney Hause.

Lambert has multiple attacking options on the bench, with Joao Teixeira, Ivan Cavaleiro and Nouha Dicko all named among the substitutes.

For visiting Wednesday, Carlos Carvalhal is forced into one change after Gary Hooper suffered a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw at Fulham last time out.

As a result, Lucas Joao earns a recall to the starting XI in his first appearance for the Owls since picking up a groin injury in August, while Steven Fletcher is forced to start among the substitutes.

Joao will link up with Fernando Forestieri up front against Wolves, while Ross Wallace, Kieran Lee, Sam Hutchinson and Barry Bannan continue in the middle of the park.

Daniel Pudil is named among the subs after coming back from a knock, but there is no place in the matchday squad for Almen Abdi despite him overcoming illness to put himself back in contention.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Lonergan; Iorfa, Stearman, Hause, Doherty; Coady, Price; Costa, Edwards, Saville; Bodvarsson
Subs: Ikeme, Saiss, Ronan, Teixeira, Enobakhare, Cavaleiro, Dicko

Sheffield Wednesday: Westwood; Hunt, Lees, Loovens, Reach; Wallace, Lee, Hutchinson, Bannan; Joao, Forestieri
Subs: Dawson, Jones, Fletcher, Palmer, Pudil, Buckley, Nuhiu
