Half-Time Report: Owain Fon Williams howler gifts Wolverhampton Wanderers the advantage

Owain Fon Williams gifted Wolves striker Leigh Griffiths the opening goal, before David Edwards added a second close to half time.

An error from goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams has helped Wolverhampton Wanderers secure a 2-0 half-time lead over Tranmere Rovers at Molineux tonight.

Striker Leigh Griffiths proved the beneficiary of the howler, as the 23-year-old watched his effort squirm over the Welsh shot-stopper and trickle over the line.

The visitors should have doubled their advantage soon after, only for Bakary Sako to drag his effort wide of the post following a good cross from Michael Jacobs.

The miss soon proved academic, though, as Sako made amends by delivering an inch-perfect cross for David Edwards, whose near-post flick established daylight between the teams three minutes before half time.
