West Bromwich Albion, Watford charged over player conduct

West Brom, Watford charged over player conduct

The Football Association has charged both West Bromwich Albion and Watford for failing to control their players in their Premier League fixture last weekend.

During the 84th minute at The Hawthorns, tensions boiled over as James McClean struck a ball at Roberto Pereyra - during open play - while the Hornets attacker was on the ground.

However, as Pereyra reacted, so did several players from both teams and a heated confrontation took place in front of the dugouts at the West Midlands ground.

Pereyra was subsequently dismissed but the FA has now decided to punish the two clubs for 'failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour'.

Like Manchester City and Chelsea - who have also been charged for a similar incident in their game at the Etihad Stadium - both clubs now have until 6pm on Thursday, December 8 to answer the charge
