Watford want Alessandro Del Piero?

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola is reportedly preparing an approach for Italian striker Alessandro Del Piero.

The 37-year-old is available on a free transfer after leaving Juventus this summer, and it is understood that he is keen to try his hand in England.

According to The Mirror, the club's new owners, the Pozzo family, are prepared to finance the move as they approach the new season.

Watford have also been linked with a move for fellow Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi.
