Watford boss Quique Flores backs Aston Villa's decision to drop Jack Grealish

Flores backs Villa's Jack Grealish axe

Watford boss Quique Flores has claimed that Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has made the right call in dropping Jack Grealish from the squad following his off-field activity.

The 20-year-old has been banished to the Under-21s at Bodymoor Heath after he went partying with friends following Villa's 4-0 defeat to Everton last Saturday.

As a result, Grealish will not be in the squad when Villa host Watford on Saturday, and Flores believes that the youngster will learn from his mistake.

"I realise he's important for Aston Villa - when he's playing it's a very different team but I understand the decision of the coach," Flores told reporters.

"Sometimes these younger players they need to make mistakes and they need to learn about these mistakes."

Villa are at the bottom of the Premier League table, five points from safety.
