Team News: Erik Pieters to start for Stoke City

New signing Erik Pieters has been handed a home debut by boss Mark Hughes in their final pre-season friendly against Genoa.

The Dutchman has been signed from PSV Eindhoven, and he will start at left-back against the Serie A outfit.

There is also a start for Peter Crouch in attack, with former Barcelona defender Marc Muniesa taking a place on the bench.

Former AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino has been named in Genoa's lineup by head coach Fabio Liverani.
