New Stoke City manager Paul Lambert will reportedly receive a £1m bonus if he keeps the Potters in the Premier League this season.

New Stoke City manager Paul Lambert will reportedly receive a £1m bonus if he keeps the Potters in the Premier League this season.

Lambert was appointed as the successor to Mark Hughes on Monday, after the club sacked former boss following a poor start to the campaign.

The Potters manager, who begins his reign in Staffordshire with the club in the relegation zone, will be awarded a bonus if he can guide the team to safety with 15 games remaining, according to The Telegraph.

Lambert watched on from the stands at Old Trafford on Monday evening as Manchester United defeated his new club 3-0 to close the gap on Manchester City at the other end of the table.

The 48-year-old's first game in charge is against Huddersfield Town, who were beaten by West Ham United last time out.
