Mark Hughes believes that Charlie Adam is beginning to have a greater impact for Stoke City following a tough start to the season.
The midfielder has scored seven goals, despite being subbed in his first nine Premier League matches this term, and Hughes says that his work on the training field has made the difference.
"He will tell you himself, at times he struggled to sustain an impact in games," Hughes told The Mirror.
"I'm not saying he couldn't complete games but his strengths and qualities would wane towards the end of them and I'd have to make changes.
"But that's not the case now. He's finishing games as strong as he's starting to him and that's credit to him and the work he's done. The work has been all football-related."
The Potters travel to Southampton on Saturday.
