Kenwyne Jones: "We've done well"

Kenwyne Jones has praised Stoke's efforts after his late header secured them a 1-1 draw against Dynamo Kiev to advance to the Europa League knockout stages.

The Ukrainians went up in the first half through a Matthew Upson own goal, but Stoke fought back in the second and secured the draw when Jones headed a Jermaine Pennant cross nine minutes from time.

"We know it was important for us to get something tonight to make it into the next round so I'm happy we pulled it off in the end," Jones told ITV4.

"Kiev are a very good team and they've been playing in Europe for years and years but we were at home. We went 1-0 down but have a never-say-die attitude and we came out in the second half and got the goal.

"It's our first time in Europe and we've done well. No-one expected us to do this well and we've turned a few heads and top the group."

The draw means that Stoke are the first English team through to the last 32.
