Wright: 'Fourth a remarkable achievement'

St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright has described his side's fourth-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership as a "remarkable achievement".

The Saints beat Dundee United to fourth by defeating Aberdeen 1-0 on the final day of the season, and will qualify for the Europa League if Inverness Caledonian Thistle defeat Falkirk in the Scottish Cup final next weekend.

"It's a remarkable achievement finishing fourth," PA Sport quotes Wright as saying. "The icing on the cake would be Europe.

"People thought we would struggle losing [Stevie] May but we haven't. We found a way to win games. I think that's our best points tally and we are unbeaten in the split."

Chris Kane netted Saints' winner against Aberdeen, who had already sealed second place ahead of kickoff.
