Tottenham Hotspur 'lining up Nathan Ake move'

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly attempt to sign Nathan Ake during this summer's transfer window if Bournemouth are relegated from the Premier League.

The Cherries have struggled for consistency this season and are currently 16th in the table, just two points clear of 18th-placed West Ham United on the same number of matches.

Ake has made 112 appearances for Bournemouth in all competitions, while his contract at the Vitality Stadium will run until the summer of 2022.

Eddie Howe's side are likely to find it difficult to keep hold of the Netherlands international should they drop out of the top flight, though, with Manchester City and Spurs both said to be interested.

According to Football Insider, Jose Mourinho's side are keen to sign a left-sided centre-back this summer and will move for Ake should the Cherries drop into the Championship.

The 24-year-old has made 21 appearances at club level this season, featuring in his team's last four Premier League matches having missed the festive period due to a hamstring problem.

Bournemouth are believed to value the former Chelsea youngster in the region of £40m.
