Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has refused to divulge whether playmaker Kaka will leave the club this summer or not.

The Brazil international has struggled to make a significant impact at the Santiago Bernabeu since joining from AC Milan in 2009, and has been strongly linked with a move back to the Rossoneri.

Kaka's agent Gaetano Paolillo recently said that talks are in progress over the transfer of the 30-year-old to Milan, but the Italian club's CEO Adriano Galliani subsequently admitted that the deal could become "impossible" because of financial reasons.

Mourinho too has declined to give a definitive answer to questions on Kaka's future as he prepares his team for their Eusebio Cup clash against Benfica on Friday.

"He's going to play for 45 to 60 minutes, but I understand that you want to know if he is staying," the Portuguese said at a press conference on Friday.

"I do not know, and neither do the club nor the player. But there is no doubt between us (me and Kaka). He knows what I think and I know what he wants.

"As long as he is a Madrid player, he will train with the first team and play with us. He will travel to the United States [for our pre-season tour] and if he stays, I'll be happy."

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luka Modric has been strongly linked as a replacement for Kaka at Madrid, but Mourinho refused to make any comment on this issue.

"I do not talk about players who are not in my team," stated the Portuguese.

Mourinho led Madrid to La Liga triumph last season and also took them to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
