Andre Villas-Boas admits that he is looking to bring a striker to Spurs, with talks over a deal for Emmanuel Adebayor ongoing.

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that talks over a deal to bring Emmanuel Adebayor to Tottenham Hotspur are ongoing.

The Manchester City striker spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane and Villas-Boas is keen to tie up a permanent deal after replacing Harry Redknapp as Spurs boss over the summer.

The Portuguese tactician has admitted that he is looking to sign a striker, with Adebayor still a top priority.

"There are talks [with City]. They have been happening for quite some time," said Villas-Boas.

"We have touched on different players in that position, but we have not been able to conclude a deal. Our focus and attention is towards that position, which we will try to sort out next week."

Brazilian pair Leandro Damiao and Hulk are also rumoured to be potential transfer targets.
