How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Southampton

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Saturday's trip to face Southampton as they aim to keep clear of the chasing pack in the top-four race.

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to keep the chasing pack at arm's length in the top-four race when they take on Southampton at St Mary's on Saturday.

Tuesday's 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund - which sealed a 4-0 aggregate triumph and a place in the Champions League quarter-finals - will have surely only whetted their appetite to qualify for the competition again next season as they head into the final months of the campaign.

However, Spurs are winless in their last three Premier League games, a run of form which has seen their lead over fifth place shrink to only four points.

Mauricio Pochettino's side will be expected to return to winning ways this weekend, though, and here Sports Mole looks at how they could line up for the contest.

Spurs could have Dele Alli back available for this match after 10 games on the sidelines, although Pochettino may prefer to ease the England international back into action off the bench despite his superb record against the Saints.

Harry Winks was deemed fit enough to start in midweek but limped off early in the second half and, while his injury is not thought to be serious, it could be enough to keep him out this weekend.

The return of Eric Dier to fitness has come in timely fashion, then, with the midfielder replacing Winks against Dortmund in his first game back after appendicitis.

Kieran Trippier was absent altogether for the Champions League win in Germany with a gluteal problem, although he too will not be sidelined for long and could even be in line to feature this weekend.

Other changes to Tuesday's lineup could be minimal, although Danny Rose - deployed in central midfield at times in the last two games - will be pushing for a recall after Ben Davies played the full 90 minutes in midweek.
