Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that Roberto Soldado can enjoy a surge in form after scoring the winner in Sunday's 2-1 win at home to Everton.
The Spanish striker netted his first Premier League goal since March in yesterday's victory at White Hart Lane, with Soldado admitting that he had a tear in his eye afterwards.
"You need to give confidence to the player to keep working hard," the Argentine manager told reporters.
"It has not been easy for him but you need to motivate the player - it is always frustrating for a striker who does not score.
"He scored and he is happy, he is more free because he feels the pressure. It is important for the team that the striker scores goals."
The Lilywhites, who moved seventh in the table with the victory, travel across London to face league leaders Chelsea on Wednesday night.
