Leicester City's Islam Slimani is linked with a move to former club Sporting Lisbon after just one year with the Foxes.

Leicester City striker Islam Slimani could reportedly return to his former club Sporting Lisbon this summer.

The Portuguese outfit will attempt to re-sign the Algeria international if their top scorer Bas Dost moves elsewhere during the current transfer window, according to The Sun.

The Foxes smashed their transfer record when they signed Slimani from Sporting in a £28m deal last summer, but the forward has struggled to hold down regular first-team football under Craig Shakespeare.

Dost, who scored 34 goals in 30 appearances for Sporting last season, is said to be attracting strong interest from Premier League sides Newcastle United and Stoke City.

Only Lionel Messi found the net more times than the Dutchman in any of Europe's top divisions last term.
