McGeady dropped by Spartak coach

Spartak Moscow coach Valery Karpin has revealed that Aiden McGeady has been dropped from the first-team squad for failing to follow instructions.

The Republic of Ireland international was reportedly criticised by Karpin for his performance in the club's 1-0 defeat to rivals CSKA Moscow last Saturday.

When asked if the winger had been dropped, Karpin told reporters: "Yes, McGeady was suspended from training with the first team for not complying with my instructions in training and matches. The rest is our internal affair."

McGeady moved to Spartak from Celtic in 2010.
