Southampton have reportedly had a £6m bid for goalkeeper Jack Butland rejected by Birmingham City.
The newly-promoted Premier League club are thought to have scouted the 19-year-old while he was on loan at League One side Cheltenham Town last season.
The Blues could be made to part with the shotstopper for an increased price, according to The Mirror.
Butland was recently called up to the England squad for Euro 2012 but wasn't used in Poland and Ukraine.
