Brian Deane takes on Norwegian job

Former Sheffield United striker Brian Deane has been appointed the new manager of Norwegian club Sarpsborg.

The 44-year-old, who scored the first ever Premier League goal back in 1992 and has three England caps, will take on the role early next year.

"I am looking forward to putting my stamp on this job," Deane told the club's official website.

Sarpsborg were promoted to Norway's top flight last season.
