Jermaine Jones has admitted that he is 'unsure' whether he will remain at Schalke 04 beyond the end of the season.
The combative midfielder has been with the German outfit since 2007, but his current deal at the club will come to an end in the summer.
A number of European clubs have been linked with his services in recent months, but the American is remaining coy on his long-term future.
"I do not know anything about next season," he told Reviersport.
"If I have to leave Schalke at the end of this season, this would be a great pity. I like playing at the Veltins-Arena and for Schalke.
"Even if I have to leave the club then my career in the game would go on."
Jones has previously had a loan spell in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers.
